I Just don't understand, why do people write " Slide to unlock " on their devices ? is your phone you know what to do...

I dunno if English is your first language or not, it's definitely not my first language, so if it is some kind of a practical joke I didn't understand, then sorry.

I just couldn't explain without using the word "slide" itself, so with the help of dictionary.com:
slide: to move along in continuous contact with a smooth or slippery surface: "to slide down a snow-covered hill".

In this case the movement of putting your finger on the surface of the screen, and move it without lifting it from there is sliding, not siding.

Naah. All I meant was that there's a typo n the lockscreen, it says side down instead of slide down.
